Simple and Bold Turquoise Ring

I just finished setting this beauty of a stone!  A pale blue Turquoise with tan matrix running through it. All sterling silver. Size 8 1/4.
It is now available for sale on my Etsy shop.

Crazy Lace Agate Love

Here's a piece I recently made that was a lot of fun and I really like the way it turned out. So much so, I haven't wished to part with it!
But I will share the pictures with you :)

Here's a collage of bits of the process in making this pendant.

I just love all the all the detail in the stone. Mother Nature had fun creating lace agates!

I love how the back of the stone peaks through the hearts, looking like candy.

Success at the Bench!!

After what seemed like forever (really just a summer with kids), I finally found my groove again in my studio today!
My goal for today was to actually make a piece and list it in my Etsy shop.
By lunchtime I had a wonderfully messy bench and some sanity restored. I let my pieces tumble and ate some food. About the time I needed to pick up my youngest from school I was almost done!
Then, after chatting with my daughter about the new flute she brought home from school, I told her I really needed to finish this project.  This time she understood! Phew!
Guess what?
I did it!
I made a pair of earrings and listed them for sale in my shop! (patting myself on the back)

First Day of Summer

The kids and I both finished school this week. So, it's officially summer break! Already the youngest declared her boredom while I was at my bench.  So I set up a card table and a toolbox of copper wire and let her have at it.

Custom Love for a Dear Friend

Here's two beautiful rings I just finished today. They are a custom order for a good friend. The rectangle stone was her Grandmothers who passed away last year. I was so honored that she asked me to create a ring for her with her Grandmother's stone! The other ring is because she really loved the look of Crazy Lace Agate.
She also said she trusted that whatever design I thought up was going to be great! She loves them and so do I!

Turquoise Drops Hanging inside Silver Hoops

Avalible in my Etsy shop ~ lightweight and beautiful!

Royston Turquoise Pendant

This is one of two of these pendants I made. The stones were cut from the same slab and are stunning.
This one found a new home today~ 😊
I just had to share.

With a bit of love and a reflection of walnut leaves on the back 😊

Here's a picture of the two together. The other one is still needing a good polishing and will be avalible in my shop soon.

Collage of Other Creations I've Made This Year

I've been busy! I really love it too! Here's another collage of different pieces of jewelry I've made. Some are in a local boutique and the others are for sale in my Etsy shop.

From left to right~ A purple Sugilite and Turquoise pendant, a Royston Pendant with Granulation, Sterling Hoops with Carnelian Agate drops, a Turquoise ring with cool black matrix and a light blue Turquoise pendant with a Matte finish on it's sterling silver setting.

Different Shades of Turquoise

Here's a collage of turquoise jewerly that didn't last too long in the shop before they were scooped up! Some of them didn't even wait till they were done before they were claimed! That makes me feel so good that my work catches someones eye like that! It makes me feel really good about the creations I make!

These earrings were spoken for before I even set the stones! I really like this design and will be making more similar to these with other stones.

Made with Love!

A dear friend of mine, who has an awesome boyfriend had a birthday coming up. So her boyfriend asked me to make her something he could purchase for her.
Her daughter helped me pick out the stone and the rest just came together as I went along. She ended up loveing it and I felt such joy throughout the whole process!!
Here is the step by step process of the necklace I made for her.

Turquoise Swans

Sometimes an idea comes together and even surprises me! That's these earrings. A passing idea in the early morning hours and then input it into action and I love how they turned out!

New Handmade Tools :)

Today my sweet honey made me new tools to add to my every growing collection of tools!  These are both helpful in little things. Not that they'd get used all the time, but when needed, you're so happy you have them!

Strip Bending Pliers

Ring and Tube cutting pins (to clamp to your bench pin)

Working on Ideas and then some..

I was sorting through stones to get some new ideas. They look so rich and delicious all laid out. One by one they will be made into a piece of jewelry.
Today I got two of them done :). Scroll down. U
I set this Robbinson Ranch agate in a window setting of silver to make a pendant. More pictures to come.
Here's a Abstract Turquoise pendant I set the stone in after dinner! ;)  This one still needs a final polish and then I can take the "professional" pictures ;)
All in all, it was a good day at the bench.

New Creations 3/30/14

I've been busy working in the studio (in between being a mom ;) and at class making jewelry. Plus, I'm learning a lot more in the process.

Here's some of the prices finished and added to my Etsy shop.
Chrysocolla and Turquoise and Silver curls~

Amazing Plans take a wrong turn! Or not?

It started out great. What a stone! A beautiful Royston Turquoise with such a rich green in it! I did a great setting with lots of love!!It was all going so smoothly....

I hadn't set it yet, just daydreaming of how it will look when it's done.

Lots of love and happiness went into sawing out the little hearts.

It was a great productive day! 3 pieces on their way to being done! Yes! A Royston turquoise ring, a Nevada turquoise ring with a cool band and a Kingman turquoise pendant.
And then.....
I went to set the beautiful Royston turquoise and while doing so, it cracked. :(
You know as a jeweler when setting stones this could happen.  This was my first. Ugh. Why did it have to be such a beautiful stone that cracked??  Alas, I was ready to put the pieces of stone in the fairy garden and wait to see if I could get another stone to be made for the setting.

I posted this picture on my Instagram page and the response ended up giving me ideas!! I follow a wonderful community of jeweler from all around the world and some of them shared their tips and tricks and now my brain is mulling over new ideas! It's not a total loss!  Here's the link to see all the comments: http://instagram.com/p/lant9thmw3/

The other two pieces survived without being cracked and are in the process of being polished up. I will share them with you later.
