Daydreaming

Some days is seems like I haven't "played" in my studio in forever. (Still feels strange calling it my studio!) It has been a busy summer with the kids and so I end up daydreaming more than creating.

So even though I love my summers, I find myself looking forward to the kids school starting in a few weeks :)

Trying a Small Setting

I have some small turquoise square cabochons and decided to brave it and try to set it and make a little ring! 

Turned out kinda cute. :)

The Finished Ring!

I'm really enjoying the outcome of the pieces I work on. They start out so raw and rough and end up so smooth, blended and shiny.

Hers the ring from the last post in its finished form. I'm very pleased with it. I'm also excited because it is the First piece I've created solely in my studio! 

     

     

 

Working On A Love Ring

When it was cool last weekend, I started to work on a new ring. It was almost done and then I had to put it on hold because of kids and skate camp. No problem right? I'll get to it this weekend.

 Nope. 

Heat wave. 100 degrees in the shade! 

So all I can do is daydream and wait for it to cool down! 

But here's a sneak peak at the progress I made in two days. Plus, this is my first piece I've done completely in my studio and not having to go to class to work on it! I feel like I've come far since that first semester of jewelry class. Last summer, I had no way to solder or anything  at home. I had to wait till class started up again. This summer, I'm rocking! 

Well, when the kids  don't need to go somewhere :-)
