Accomplishments

I just have to say that I am proud of myself.  This week I started my 3rd year of Jewelry/Metal-smithing classes! All of this and being a full time mom too!  For one, I'm so amazed how fast the time flew, and two, how much I fell in love with it all! I just really am so happy that I finally got the chance to do this for myself.  I'm also so happy and blessed that I have a wonderful husband who's so supportive of me in this new journey.  I truly married the right man!

I did try to take this very class, at the same school, back when I was 19.  I obviously wasn't with the right man (and not in my right mind) because instead of going with it back then, I dropped out and followed that fellow.  I think of all that I could have been doing if I had stuck with it back then!!!  On the other hand, if I hadn't dropped out of that class back then (okay, it was 1989!) I wouldn't have all I have today.  My wonderful children and husband.  My wonderful adventures I've been on. Relationships I have now with amazing people in my life.

So, I now realize that back then wasn't my time.
This is my time.  With having said all that, I still have to say that I wish my mom was alive to see and share in all that I am doing now. (She did metal-smithing in college.) I wish she was here to show her my creations and my mistakes! To hear her comments and support. Oh, that would be so wonderful! I just hope she comes in my dreams to make more memories.  The weird thing is that I'm not sure I would've gotten this chance if my mom was still alive. Who knows.  It wasn't till I found her shoebox of jewelry making stuff (and wondered what it all was-now I know!) after she passed and bumped into a friend who was taking the class, that made me decide to try again.  Life is so strange how it works out sometimes!!

So, I'm patting myself on the back for accomplishing all I have so far in my new journey of becoming a silversmith.  Good job Kel!!
