Being Inspired

Sometimes life gets full of life and before you know it, you haven't done what you love for a while.
That's what the holidays did to me. Don't get me wrong-the holidays were great and I had the people I love with me!
But the fullness of it all and getting life back in order this month didn't leave me much time to create jewelry.  Yesterday was the first time I soldered since the beginning of December! It felt so good too!
Thanks to a dear friend of mine who wants a custom order, it got me back to my bench working away!
She chose a gorgeous piece of Turquoise to be made into a pendant. I'm at the point where I'm figuring out the bail (the part the chain goes through).

It's a New Year!

15 days into the New Year and I finally got the chance to photograph and list (in my shop) some jewelry I made before Christmas!  Yes, it was a very full Holiday! It was a good one though :)

L-R Sugilite Ring set in Sterling Silver, Peruvian Opal & Sterling Silver Hoop earrings, Turquoise & Sterling Silver Hoop earrings and a Parrot Wing Jasper & Sterling Silver Ring

I was able to redo my inside studio finally, so for all the non soldering/filing/sawing jobs, I can stay warmer and create. The outside studio is in the cold garage and even though it doesn't look like winter here in Coastal California, the nights and mornings are very chilly.  Getting one's creative spaces organized in the New Year is very inspiring!

It's small, but warm! LOL!! It just feels good to know where everything is (even though there's a lot of stuff).

Here's my studio in the garage. You can feel the cold! It's great in the summer though!  I am just so thankful I have this both. I really couldn't do it without my wonderful husbands love an support and knowledge of building (he's a carpenter) things like a soldering table! He's working on a real jewelers bench next!

So after cleaning this room up and reorganizing my supplies, sorting through paperwork and paying taxes for my business~today I am going to make some jewelry! It's been too long!

I hope all of you are having a great beginning of 2014 so far!  If not, hang in there because it can only get better!
